IMPORTANT! The vessel should NOT be contacted directly. Please contact the operations office at 252-504-7580 first. If after hours, contact the Marine Superintendent at 725-4636 (cellular). Messages will then be relayed to the vessel immediately for return calls.
Regular daily contact between the CAPE HATTERAS and ship operations is conducted through the use of a variety of communications equipment, usually at 0800 EST. The following is a list of communications forms available:

- Cellular
- Iridium satellite phone - The CAPE HATTERAS can also be contacted by e-mail. Contact the Marine Superintendent for details.
PLEASE NOTE: ALL THESE FORMS OF COMMUNICATION ARE OF SIGNIFICANT EXPENSE AND WILL COST THE RECIPIENT OR CHIEF SCIENTIST, AND WILL BE BILLED AT THE END OF EACH CRUISE.
